Interfaces

Skills are ready-made shortcuts your agent can learn once, so a common ask lands on the right Lyt operation. Twelve installed skills are executable protocols — slash commands that route an agent to Lyt’s supported creation, capture, search, orientation, lifecycle, and pattern operations. Install them once for Claude Code, Codex, and compatible agent runtimes.

Skills ship with the Lyt toolchain and install into each detected runtime’s skill directory. Once installed, use the slash command or its trigger phrase to route the task through the supported workflow. /lyt-create creates a new mesh or vault and explains its Receipt V1; use /lyt-adopt for an existing markdown directory. Create & adopt

Start new Lyt structure or add an existing editor-neutral Markdown directory. See the vault model first if the distinction is new.

/lyt-create: Create a new mesh or vault through the supported CLI, then report the exact Receipt V1. It checkpoints local files but never publishes or invents an alias.
/lyt-adopt: Adopt an existing Markdown directory into a pod. Additive-only: Lyt creates its own local state and never rewrites the Markdown already there.

Capture & retrieve

Write one durable Figment, search the pod, or pin retrieval to one vault.

/lyt-capture: Capture one Markdown Figment under the eight-field frontmatter contract, with author-supplied purpose and topic.
/lyt-search: Search across the pod by default, or narrow to a mesh or vault. Returns confidence-ranked Figments with provenance and snippets.
/lyt-recall: Search one named vault. Use it when the source is pinned; use /lyt-search when the scope is ambiguous or wider.

Orient

Resolve the pod before acting, inspect a mesh, or prime an agent with recent scoped context.

/lyt-pod: List this machine’s meshes and vaults, grouped by mesh, with orphans and ownership or subscriber status visible.
/lyt-mesh-explore: Inspect one exactly named mesh: its metadata, destination policy, and home-vault destinations. Read-only and never prefix-guessed.
/lyt-primer-context: Prime an agent for a vault, mesh, or pod with top keywords, active arcs, recent activity, top lanes, and vault write status where relevant.

Address, sync & maintain

Give vaults durable interactive names, reconcile one exact vault, and keep Lyt itself current.

/lyt-alias: Bind, list, repoint, or remove a pod-local alias. The alias points to the vault rid, so it survives rename and move.
/lyt-sync: Sync one exact qualified vault. Lyt owns local reconciliation, remote validation, and first private publication through a trusted mesh target.
/lyt-update: Check the configured release channel, request confirmation before updating, and reconcile the newly installed binary. It never silently downgrades.

Patterns

Operate the reusable patterns installed into Lyt without reconstructing their CLI workflow.

/lyt-pattern: List, install, uninstall, link, unlink, fork, inspect verbs, or run a Lyt pattern through the supported command surface.
